This resulted in a savings in packaging waste of 20 %. Early 2012 we will be forced to re-introduce the 5 kg buckets. Transport regulations for exempted quantities have changed and set a limit of 5 kg now, where this used to be 6 kg. There will be no other changes to the product or its packaging. We will now be looking at other ways to save on packaging materials.]]> Thu, 22 Dec 2011 11:15:00 +0100 http://www.axcentive.com/Regulations-against-a-greener-world.htm <![CDATA[Ketjenflex CP deserves an improved packing]]> Axcentive is introducing a new packaging for Ketjenflex CP. It is a delicate product as it is a hygroscopic corrosive product that cakes easily. Depending on the application, absence of impurities such as free acid and iron are of utmost importance. Often seen as a commodity, suppliers are typically not willing to invest in more advanced packaging. Axcentive does bring the quality of its packaging for Ketjenflex CP to a higher standard. Competitive products are often packed in brown paper bags or so-called poly-woven bags. Ketjenflex CP will from now on be available in strong and hygienic plastic bags which are sealed. Printed in tune with the fresh new Axcentive image and all regulatory requirements, we are convinced that both product quality and image will be appealing to our customers.K...]]> Thu, 22 Dec 2011 11:00:00 +0100 http://www.axcentive.com/KetjenflexCP-improved-packing.htm <![CDATA[Ketjenflex 12 in the market]]> The first deliveries of Ketjenflex 12 to distributors and final users have taken place. Our citrate based plasticizer is now already being used in different applications, such as printing inks, PVC compounding and nail polish. In PVC compounding, DOP (also known as DEHP) and DOA are the products mostly used. DOP belongs to the phthalate range and is not in use anymore for food contact applications. It is largely replaced by DOA (SML 18 ppm) and ATBC (SML 60 ppm). DOA was initially the product of choice while ATBC was the more expensive product. However due to its success and in combination with the high migration of DOA into fatty foods, the exposure of the public to DOA has reached its safe limits. Various authorities are now reconsidering the use of DOA in food-contact applications. Under these critical circumstances Axcentive is taking maximum care that you can run your production as usual. How do we do this ?First of all we cooperate with long term production partners – often for more than 10 years - where we have a preferred or exclusive status. This warrants the best possible supply position. Secondly, for every product in our range we have approved backup facilities in case the standard plant lacks capacity. For a GMP audit to be valid for the production of an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API), the producer of the substance may not directly order this audit. The medicinal registration holders who buy the API are charged with this. After the new CLP regulation came into force on December 1, 2010, it was necessary to totally review the contents of our labels. This was also the occasion to change the ‘looks’. Following carefully the three product groups introduced in our website (Fine Chemicals, Plasticizers and Halamid®), our new labels are modern, clear, attractive and above all functional. Even if our products are not typically on the shelves of a trendy boutique, our design agency ZMO showed that labeling of chemical products can be functional and attractive at the same time! Content wise, much has changed for the so-called ‘classified’ products.
